RTC welcomes interim director Dr. John Hafernik
Dr. John Hafernik, Trustee and President, California Academy of Sciences and former Chair of the Biology Department at SF State, has been appointed interim director of RTC. In October, Toby Garfield stepped down to take a position with NOAA. Hafernik will lead the search for an outstanding new director for the Center.

Summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates at RTC
RTC/SFSU's REU Program, funded by the National Science Foundation, and the CSU's STAR Program (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math [STEM] Teacher and Researcher) offer paid summer internships for qualified undergraduate students. Applications are now being accepted for the STAR Program. Deadline is January 31, 2014
