RTC's mission is to illuminate the vital connections between science, society, and the sea.
Master of Science in Marine Science Program at RTC
The RTC MS in Marine Science Program "Research Intensive Pedagogical Training of InterDisciplinary Estuarine Scientists (RIP TIDES)" is open for applications. The degree program is based at RTC and focuses at the intersection of global change, urbanized coastal areas, and related social issues.
Undergraduate Study at RTC
Want to explore marine science as a field of study or a career? Upper division undergraduate students at SF State can also take marine science courses at RTC. Some faculty also accept undergraduate research assistants in their labs. Learn more about how to study marine science as an undergraduate at SF State's bayside research laboratory, and how to get here!
Summer Research Internships at RTC
RTC/SFSU's REU Program, funded by the National Science Foundation, and the CSU's STAR Program (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math [STEM] Teacher and Researcher) offer paid summer internships for qualified undergraduate students. Applications for both programs are now open for Summer 2017.
The Barbara and Richard Rosenberg Institute for Marine Biology & Environmental Science
The Rosenberg Institute at RTC supports the Center's efforts to communicate the science behind the world's ocean environment. Join us for one or more science seminars, semiannual Public Forums, or our annual Discovery Day Open House.
Wetland Science & Coastal Training
We have recently merged our Wetland Science Series with the SF Bay NERR Coastal Training Program. The new program will continue to host top notch professional trainings and offer technical assistance to decision makers, consultants and practitioners throughout the Bay Area. Please see the Wetland Science and Coastal Training Program calendar for upcoming events.
The Bayside newsletter is available online
We've gone (almost) paperless! Read Bayside issues online from the new Fall/Winter 2016 issue back to 2006 to learn about our diverse environmental research in the field and in the lab, the students and scientists who do it, and see where they are now.
